Several servers in my XenApp 6 farm have been rendered useless. Every time a user attempts to launch a published icon from one of the XA6 servers – they either get a the “connecting to…” message, followed directly by another message indicating “there is no Citrix Presentation Server configured on the specified address”. And the message is slightly different if they are launching a published desktop.
From within the local group policy, check the following (test 1):
–> expand Local Computer Policy\ User Configuration\ Citrix Policies – give the policy a few seconds to update then click on “Unfiltered” if it exists. Then click on the “Settings” tab and “All Settings” under categories. Scroll down until you see “Desktop Launches” and click on “Add”

Next, under the “add setting” prompt – click on “allowed” to allow non-administrative users to connect to the servers desktop. This setting is important in the event you have some type of active directory policy trumping your citrix policy.
From within the local group policy, check the following to assure your license server is in tact (test 2):
–> expand Local Computer Policy\ Computer Configuration\ Citrix Policies – give the policy a few seconds to refresh then click on “Unfiltered” if it exists. Then click on the “Settings” tab and “All Settings” under categories. Scroll down until you see “Licensing” and click on “add” next to “Licensing server host name”

Under add setting, add your license server and click on OK. Now click on “add for License server port” and assure value 27000 is in place. If you happen to forget to do this, XenApp will assume port 27000 is used by default. Make sure if you are using a different port – you will need to change it here!
From within the local group policy, check the following (test 3):
–> expand Local Computer Policy\ User Configuration\ Citrix Policies – give the policy a few seconds to update then click on “Unfiltered” if it exists. Then click on the “Settings” tab and “All Settings” under categories. Scroll down until you see “Trust XML requests” and click on “add” then enable the policy. To trust all requests sent to it. Next, click on click Add next to the XML service port feature and enter your xml port to the right of “value”. This is extremely important if you are using an xml port other then port 8080. No XML communication will yield a world of hurt on both your Farm and Web Interface.
