Citrix Xenapp Admin Checklist

by admin on Jan.25, 2010, under XenApp

Citrix Admin Checklist:Most of us citrix/xenapp administrators already know…. If you have a scheduled weekend reboot for your farm, it is almost 100% necessary to check if everything is up and responsive prior to the next days production runs. After getting burned several times for completely preventable tasks, I started checking the following in an effort to make sure the farm is in a production ready status. Here is a quick rundown of my weekend checklist.

  1. qfarm.exe /offline : Never manually check each server in your farm. Maybe its possible if you have a farm with a few servers, but a wast of time if you have many servers in your xenapp farm. This command (qfarm /offline) will allow you to quickly identify servers that are currently offline and/or not responding to ICA requests. Simply run the command from any server currently part of the overall farm. I run the command from one of the servers that hosts the Citrix Access Management Consoles.
