My VM is slow. My Xendesktop is slow. A common concern we see spatted all over the place when attempting to virtualize somebody’s desktop. Mostly it’s an issue with a user using resources several thousand miles away via a mapped network drive. Come on now! It’s not the vm that’s running sluggish; it’s the access database you are running from London when your vm is sitting in Texas!
Virtualized desktop runs slow
virtual desktop engineer
I’m not sure I’d even reserve this as an opportunity for a seasoned desktop professional. In all honesty – there is not many people out there that has both xenapp(citrix), hyper-v, and packaging experiance. Maybe I just contradicted myself. Perhaps this is indeed a great opportunity for somebody who started their career on the helpdesk and worked their way into an engineering/citrix role. The only thing i do not see is “scripting” as none of this could be accomplished without the ability to script. Mainly VB or Powershell or even VB.NET.
