To those at HP that happen to stumble upon this site, we say decent idea friends. Having the ability to monitor and deploy scripts and packages to various platforms (UNIX, Linux, Microsoft) is a great idea in theory, but your efforts as a multi conglomerate huge company have failed, all while putting major enterprise networks at risk, by delivering an out of the box sluggish piece meal software suite only suitable for smaller networks. Please software development friends, hang up your coats and stick to what you know best… printers. In the proceeding pages, we will attempt to document some of the finer (or lack thereof) parts of OpenView [OV](HPSA/Opsware) and give you some ideas for alternative better multi-platform utilities that will deliver the same (if not better) results, with less overhead and capital ($$$). Because after all, once you open the hood of this product, a majority of the code is open source anyway.
